This week, we have continued to develop our knowledge of place value in Maths, dived deeper into our The Silver Donkey story and continued to make sense of our circulatory systems and WW1 weaponry, as well as everything in between!

Thank you for bringing your wonderful family photos in, our family boards are shaping up and we’re excited for them to continue to become a true reflection of the learners in our community. As an addition to this and on the theme of symbolism, we’ve been opening our minds to the intriguing world of heraldry this week and creating our own family coat of arms to display.

Online resources

Just a reminder that Bug Club, Mathletics and Purple Mash log in information went out last week so your child is able to access any of these should they wish to. Any log in problems, please do let us know.

We started to tackle a tricky Maths problem solving activity today, perhaps you might like to look at it at home. You could bring in your solutions if you like, we’d love to see them. To begin with on the first one, ask yourself: What number do all the cards add to? What will the total of each pile be?

Reading

We are continuing to foster continuity of reading between home and school, so as a reminder, your child is being encouraged to have a reading book with them every day- whether that is a school reading book that they have signed out, or a book from home.

As readers, our understanding of a text can be embellished by marking it with annotation or underlining. Could we ask that, if you have kindly provided your child with a copy of The Silver Donkey and are happy for your child to mark the pages in our reading sessions, that you let them know?
