It has been a busy start to the half term and Year 3 have immersed themselves in our new topic ‘Around the World in 80 Days’. The children have particularly enjoyed exploring each of the countries in the Learning Street and finding out about the culture, language, landmarks, traditions and religions there.

We have also really loved learning about and celebrating the diversity in each of our classrooms. We shared some special objects from different countries around the world and found out more about each member of Year 3.

In other areas of learning, we have become more fluent in multiplying a 2 digit by a 1 digit number and have explored this with concrete objects before learning a more formal written methods to do this. You can find our worksheets and challenges here. Maths sheets Spring 2 wk1

In gymnastics we have been learning about balance, rolls and jumps. We are now beginning to transfer our routines onto more challenging apparatus.

We are continuing the story of Phileus Fogg next week in our Guided Reading lessons. The text is available here if you would like to pre-read it at home. Chapter 3 The Trouble in Hong Kong Blog

Please ensure that your child has the correct PE kit in school. As the weather warms, we will be doing more PE outside, and it is important that children have suitable footwear for this.
