We have had a fantastic Book Week this week! In Year One, we have been getting to know our character from the story ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers. Our character was the one and only Green Lady. We explored all aspects of her life from her childhood during the war, to her exciting adventures around the world, looking at the artefacts that she treasures from her life. We built an effigy of our character and had a creative art lesson where we used pastels to draw portraits of the Green Lady. Once we got to know our character we learnt about acting in role and becoming our character, we role played sharing memories of the adventures and life experiences of the green lady and finished off the week by writing a letter, in character, to the green lady’s new grandchild. The children have been so immersed in the role play and characterisation of the green lady, it has been a wonderful experience!
We would also like to say, Thank you to all that attended Family Friday, it is so special to see the children excited about sharing their learning with you!
