Meadows we are very proud of you all because you are all amazing!
We thoroughly enjoyed tuning our ears into various classical tunes by famous composers and discussed how we could match each piece to an emotion! We have such fantastic imaginations once we allowed the music to take control!
Focus Text/Musical: ‘A Wiggly Nativity’ By Peter Fardell
Adult Focus: Rehearsals/Filming: Perform ‘Donkey Plodding’ with musical instruments keeping the beat, actions and costumes.
Mark Making/Fine Motor: Use large quills for making letter shapes in our name and patterns in colored salt.
Mathematics: I can experiment, combine and print 2D shapes to create a scene /patterns and talk about them.
PSED and EAD: I can choose a favorite song or rhyme to perform/sing to my friends
Physical Development: Gross Motor- Use large (patterned wheeled) vehicles dipped in paint to take in different directions on large paper outside, using our bodies to make large movements!
Ways to support at home:
Look out for shapes and numerals in your home and whilst you are ‘out and about’ in the environment.
Please check your child for head lice as there have been a few ‘wriggly critters’ found in Reception. It is also advisable to check the whole family and treat if needed. It would also help if long hair were tied back. Thank you for checking.
Gentle Reminder: Nursery door opens at 8:35a.m. then the gate will be locked at 8:45a.m promptly. Once the gate is locked, please do not ring the bell, but enter via the main entrance. Please arrive early enough to say ‘good-bye’ to your child calmly as handing over in a rush often causes anxiety for all it also prevents teachers from beginning the session promptly.
End of Day Collection: The gate is open at 3:10pm for prompt collection please, this allows teachers to continue their working day by attending meetings and other professional development. We do not give daily individual feedback, however if a meeting is required please ask for the appropriate form at the door. We want to keep our communication open and this will help with time keeping.
Donations: Thank you to those who have already made Christmas donations for our ‘Santa’s Workshop’, but we still require some more, especially cards and envelopes. Thank you for your kindness.
Keep safe and warm this weekend!
